Father Shane Johnson is truly on his way to Sainthood. He has laid his life down for Christ, the church, and all His people through the priesthood. He provides hope to all, answering every question of the hundreds he gets flooded with. I’m sure through the internet (a wonderful way of evangelizing and affirming faiths) and in the real world, he has changed and saved many lives. He provides so much wisdom, he tells skeptics what the truth is behind the all the misconceptions of our faith. He reaches out to not just Catholics, but people of ever faith and belief- even atheists and agnostics. God bless him, and pray for him and those whom he reaches the hearts of! Thank you, Father Shane!
We love you, Father Shane!
October 4: Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi
One of my favorite saints of all time. The original hippie, patron saint of ecologists and animals, pacifist, brother of the poor and to all.
It is no use walking anywhere to preach unless our walking is our preaching. -Saint Francis of Assisi
after today’s daily mass im deff adding Franciscan to my list of possible orders!! <3

An obscure Catholic word that even I didn’t know until perhaps a year ago. Latria is adoration directed to the Holy Trinity or to the Eucharist (since that is Christ’s real presence). Hyperdulia is veneration due to the Virgin Mary. Dulia is veneration due to the Saints. The one I’m focusing on here is the last.
Catholics are well-known for giving Mary her fair share of attention. We have churches named after her, there are countless devotions to her, and you can find a small statue of her in the homes of most Catholics (including mine). She is considered the mother of God and the mother of our Church.
Let me back that up for you, son.
She gave birth to God.
And because God was all, ‘ooh, Ima send my Holy Spirit and get some miracles up in this hizzouse,’ she remained a virgin for this process. Because these two things are so huge and earth-changing, I don’t understand the lack of respect, or the mere cursory looks, given to her by other denominations. If her role from the Bible was removed or altered, we wouldn’t have the same Jesus we revere today. A long time ago when I was pagan, I bought a pack of ‘Goddess Oracle Cards.’ They happened to include the Blessed Mother in that definition, so I saved it and have it on my pseudo-altar today.
lolz for the slang interpretation of what the Holy Spirit did with the Virgin Mary! xD bur real talk…. =] KUDDOS!!
